Construction Progressing Well At Bay Medical

Tuesday was a day of celebrations for Bay Medical Center. Hospital administrators gave staff t-shirts commemorating the third straight year Bay Medical was named one of the top 50 hospital's in the U-S.

Tuesday evening they honored donors for their 4-million dollars in contributions to the new medical tower project on the Bay Medical campus. It included a "sneak peak" dinner held inside of the new patient tower, to show off its progress. Guests received a walk through of the facility.

Hospital C-E-O Steve Johnson told them about the next phase of the fund-raising, which will allow contributors to buy and name rooms in the new facility.

Johnson also reaffirmed the hospital's gratitude to both donors and employees.

"It's simply the people. I know that sounds over simplistic, but that is really what drives us. The buildings are nice, the technology is nice, you have to have all that but I tell you without the people carrying out our mission, none of this is possible."

The new tower is scheduled to open later this year, October 10th, 2010, that's 10/10/10.
