With the warmer temperatures comes pine pollen and lots of it in the Panama City area. It is making allergy sufferers pretty miserable. Even if you're not experiencing a running nose or watering eyes the pollen is more than likely making it's mark on your car.
Bay County Allergy Asthma Doctor Randall Humphreys says just because you're reacting to the pine pollen doesn't necessarily mean your allergic to it.
Randall says pine pollen is very large so it usually irritates people rather than causing a true allergic reaction.
"It's more like riding down a dirt road with the windows down and getting dust in your eyes and nose. So if you wash your eyes and nose out with saline that helps," says Dr. Humphreys.
If your symptoms go beyond the spring's pine pollen season Humphreys suggests getting tested to see what other plants or products might be bothering you then get treated as necessary.
