Governor Rick Scott Monday announced the appointment Dr. Merle P. Stringer of Panama City to the Board of Medicine.
Stringer, 68, is a neurosurgeon with Brain and Spine Center LLC. He succeeds Frank H. Farmer and is appointed for a term beginning April 4, 2011, and ending October 31, 2013.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
