Seiffert, FSU Golf Team Advance to Match Play

Pacific Palisades, CA--There are three more rounds of golf at the NCAA Championship for Mosley alum Chase Seiffert and his Florida State teammates this weekend at Riviera.

Seiffert shooting a 5 over 76 in the third round of stroke play, helping FSU finished tied for 8th in the team standings. As it happens the top 8 teams advance to three rounds of match play to determine the national champ.

FSU finishing at 23 over par, tied with Kent State for the 7th and 8th spots. Alabama the overall team leader at just 7 over par. Those team scores a compilation of the scores of all five team players over 54 holes.

The University of Florida on the outside looking in after round three Thursday, the Gators missing the cut by 3 strokes, finishing at 26 over par.

As for Seiffet's individual score, that 76 combined with 73 in each of the first two rounds leaving him at 9 over par, which was tied for 46th best out of the 150 golfers taking part.

Match play begins Friday with all the golfers and golf teams starting with a clean slate.
