PHILADELPHIA, PA- It's bad news for Mosley and Gulf Coast alum David Herndon. Herndon is part of the Philadelphia Phillies rotation in the bullpen, but his season has been cut short after undergoing Tommy John surgery Tuesday.

Herndon was dealing with inflammation in his right throwing arm and saw Dr. James Andrews on Monday.

The Phillies report on their website that underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday. The recovery timetable from the ligament reconstruction operation can be 12-to-14 months.

Herndon only pitched in five games this season before hitting the DL with right elbow inflammation.
