When a loved one is buried it hurts alot to see a grave rising to the surface when the body is suppose to be placed in a safe place and not to be disturbed . This little body needs to be replaced properly so the family can mourn the infant and know it was finally done right

Yes, I believe that if a company is suppose to do a job they should do it to the best of their ability. If they can not properly live up to it the first time they should admit it, and fix the problem. There is no reason why a vault shouldn't be at the proper height. There is also no reason why if an "accident" happens that a responsible company can not fix it like it should be done.

To be quite honest, I would be devastated to visit a cemetary and see any casket or vault above the ground, or even see remnants of such. It is quite disturbing that a funeral home does not provide upkeep when they charge monthly services for doing so. This is not only affecting this family but could affect families who have sites close to this one. What has America come to where we can honor our soldier's coming home deceased but we can not honor our non-military loved ones with the same respect. Would this happen in Arlington? If she wanted an above ground crypt she would have purchased one.

angel, did you not watch the video, that was the top of the vault she was pointing to, that was exposed and it is supposed to be a sealed vault

If I was in her shoes I would have them move him at there cost to a higher ground in another state closer to where she was from and where there is not water to push up the sand.

There is no way that any cemetary with any reputation would have only buried the casket 3 inches under the ground. The casket is not buried in the dirt but, a concrete sealing vault is buried six foot under and then the casket is placed inside the concrete vault and the vault is sealed. If you chose to not bury the concrete vault top then it will stick out of the ground 3 inches. But, the casket is sitting at the bottom of that sealed vault. The vault is what keeps water from getting to the casket.

I have been doing some checking and it is 6 feet in the city.I don,t know why they would do it the way they wanted to.I have called a friend in Pa. that has a funeral home and they advised me that it is the cemetaries fault. They should be held 100% responsible for their mistakes.

oh my gosh, she measured it with a stick? The Funeral Home needs to be held responsible.

I agree with Penny a hundred percent. The funeral home wouldn,t let their loved ones lay atop their gravesites and something needs to be done about it.Let the state pick it up and see how many fines they get slapped with.I am sure if that has happened to one it has also happened to a lot more then this tiny infant. Many more relatives need to go there and check out their loved ones sites to see how many more there are not in compliance with the ststues of the funeral home in that county.I would really like to know how they can get away with this.
