A six-month-old north Florida boy who was in the back seat of a car when it was stolen in Monticello has been located safe in Tallahassee.
Lt. Silas Lewis of the Leon County Sheriff's Office says a deputy spotted the green Ford Taurus about 8:45 Thanksgiving morning, parked at a housing project in northeast Tallahassee. She found the infant inside the car in its car seat.
The baby, Ja-Marquez Izhaun Pringle, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital to be checked out. Silas said the baby appeared to be in good condition.
Monticello Police Chief David Frisby says the baby's parents were driven to Tallahassee to be reunited with their child.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night after the car was stolen in a residential area in Monticello. Police say the baby's grandmother had stopped in a residential neighborhood to drop off another child.
Lewis says the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the theft of the car.
Monticello is 26 miles east of Tallahassee.
