Halloween falls on Sunday this year. Some area communities are asking people to celebrate Halloween on Saturday, October 30. Others are going with the Halloween celebrations on the actual holiday on Sunday.
Here's a rundown of counties in our viewing area. Walton and Okaloosa Counties are telling kids to trick-or-treat on Sunday night, but both recommend that kids be home by 8 o'clock.
Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen is recommending Saturday night for trick-or-treating.
Gulf, Calhoun, and Jackson Counties are also going with Saturday night.
In Washington County, kids are asked to trick or treat in downtown Chipley on Friday October 29 from 5 to 6 in the evening. That way, they say it won’t interfere with Friday night high school football.
Remember all of these are just recommendations. You won’t be arrested and you will not get in trouble for trick-or-treating on Halloween, but everyone may not have candy.
