A popular Vernon High School teacher has been arrested for alleged sexual acts with students.
Forty-five-year-old James R. Seaboch, who is a music teacher and Band Director at Vernon, was arrested on two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
Washington County Sheriff Fred Peel says the victims were two of Seaboch’s former students.
Both students said the sexual contact took place in the band director’s locked office at Vernon High School; one for about a year in 1998, the second student said her encounters started in 2000 and continued for about two years.
The second victim told deputies she ultimately had to move from the Vernon area to avoid Seaboch.
Sheriff Peel said investigators were attempting to determine if there were other victims and anyone with any information should contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Chipley at 850-638-6111.
