City commissioners plan to buy the property adjacent to the park and pipe the drainage ditch running through the park. Commissioners also approved a $1.6 million project to upgrade Henry Davis Park.

The Glenwood Community Park off Lincoln Drive floods every time there are heavy rains. Residents in the area say they've been waiting for the city to solve the flooding problem since the late 90s.

Tuesday night engineers recommended the city buy the adjacent property and move the playground equipment.

The city plans to pipe and fill the drainage ditch running through the park.
