The National Hurricane Center wants to retire the names Charley, Ivan, Frances and Jeanne.

Hurricane Center officials are recommending the names be retired from the alphabetical list used each year for tropical cyclones.

Charley, Ivan, Frances and Jeanne did more than $40 billion in damage and killed 117 people in Florida alone.

Under the rules, the country most affected by a hurricane can request a name be deleted from the list.
