If Bay County is any example, early voting is a big success in Florida. By the close of early voting Monday evening over one-third of Bay County's registered voters had already cast their ballots.
Bay County has 101,000 registered voters; of these about 19,000 voted early and another 15,000 have returned absentee ballots. Those 34,000 voters combined represent 34 percent of the local voters who have basically already been to the polls.
No one wants to guess what the totals will be when you tally the regular voting day crowd Tuesday, but some experts look for possibility at least another 30 percent more voters will go to the polls.
If so, that will give Bay County the best turnout it has ever seen.
