The new 25,000-square-foot building will serve as the new emergency management office for Walton County. It will also house an ambulance station.
Many county offices that were scattered throughout the county have now moved in including the EOC, geographical information systems and animal control.
Officials say the building will take some of the burden off the heavily used EOC bunker next door. The new emergency management office was completed in October and cost more than $750,000.
