The nation's largest cable television company is getting into the phone business.
Comcast plans to offer Internet-based phone service.
It will cost about $40 a month for Comcast high speed Internet customers, but it probably won't be in local markets, like Panama City, for at least a year.
When available, the package will include Caller ID, Voice Mail and Call Waiting.
Verizon, Vonage and AT&T all offer phone-based Internet similar to what Comcast will be offering.
