More than 100 people were Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Saturday. St. Andrews State Park hosted the American Cancer Society's walk. Walkers circled the park for 3.2 miles.
This is the first year for the event in Bay County. Participants raised more than $12,000 for breast cancer research and education. The walk was such a success that organizers hope to make it an annual event.
"All the money we raised goes to breast cancer research," says Jo Maxhimer, a cancer survivor. "I think that's good because we need to find out what causes it and how to stop it."
