Officials are still searching for former Escambia County Commissioner Willie Junior, who skipped out on his sentencing on numerous corruption charges.
An arrest warrant was issued for Junior after he failed to show up to court on Wednesday. Escambia County law enforcement officials said they have received numerous telephone calls concerning Junior's whereabouts.
Junior was last seen Tuesday, a day before he was scheduled to be sentenced on charges that include racketeering, bribery and extortion in connection with a corruption scandal involving Escambia County government.
Junior could have faced up to 125 years in prison, but he made a plea deal with prosecutors that calls for a term of no more than 18 months.
