Frankford Avenue will not be home to any topless bars or pornographic shops, but Tuesday Panama City commissioners admitted the adult district will have to go somewhere.
Commissioners voted unanimously to take the Frankford Avenue area out of consideration after a number of complaints from nearby homeowners.
But by law, the city will have to let sexually oriented businesses operate somewhere. Commissioners favor using that to their advantage, selecting a location that will discourage the businesses from opening at all.
The issue will come up again at the next commission meeting.
