Tyndall AFB F/A-22 Raptors to Show Off at Super Bowl

Two F/A-22 Raptors from the 43rd Fighter Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base will participate in Super Bowl 39 in Jacksonville during the sporting event's pre-game ceremonies this Sunday.

The Raptors, piloted by Major Lance Pilch, a native of Flemington, N.J., and Major Max Marosko, a native of Coupland, Texas, will perform the flyover with two Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets stationed at Naval Air Station Oceania, Va.

The Super Bowl, a television event that earns an estimated 145 million viewers, is a perfect venue for the United States Air Force to show the American public what a superb flying machine it is.

The Air Force is enthusiastic to showcase the Air Dominance capabilities of the F/A-22.

Brig. Gen. Jack Egginton, 325th Fighter Wing commander says, “The Super Bowl is the perfect venue to do so."
