An Alabama man is in critical condition after being beaten and stabbed overnight in Laurel Hill in north Okaloosa County.

32-year old Jeremy Wayne Williams is being treated at North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, awaiting transfer to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Deputies say Williams came into the Tom Thumb Store on Highway 85 in Laurel Hill around 2:10 a.m. Friday morning. He had been beaten and stabbed in the face following an altercation on the roadway off 5th Street in Laurel Hill.

One person is in custody at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
