Members of the NAACP held their annual banquet in Marianna Saturday night. They were joined by members of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and together they made a major announcement.
Jackson County's Minority Business Council will now team up with the Chamber of Commerce to form a strategic partnership.
Both organizations agree they have one common goal in mind, and that's to create better jobs to keep people living in Jackson County.
Elmore Bryant is the President of the Minority Business Council and says, "For years we were individuals, the minority business as well as the Chamber, and together my philosophy is one of us is as great as all of us and working together will certainly enhance what we're trying to do.”
This alliance marks a historic day in Jackson County because the two had been working independently for years.
