Downtown Panama City has changed throughout the years, yet the Marie Hotel has seen little renovation.
Joe Chapman, the owner of the hotel, has agreed to foot up to half the bill with the Downtown Improvement Board for a market study of the hotel.
The architecture committee for the DIB met Wednesday to discuss a letter from Chapman agreeing to move forward on the project.
The director of the DIB says the hotel is a project that needs some work. The DIB staff will now hire a firm to come in and determine the highest and best use of the Marie Hotel property.
