A prominent Bay County businessman who served for nearly a dozen years on the Bay Medical Center Board of Trustees, has a hospital building named after him.
The Tommy Cooley Administration Building was officially unveiled Thursday.
Cooley's been in Bay County his whole life. He served on the Bay Medical Board of Trustees from 1993-2004.
He's credited with spearheading the hospital's expansion of its West Tower which opened a couple years ago.
Cooley says he's humbled by the honor.
“It's a recognition of perhaps, the time and effort, but there again, I certainly don't want to take all the achievements personally because there were so many other people involved."
It's just the third time in the hospital's history it's named a building after someone.
