When Vision Airlines announced last year it was expanding to offer commercial airlines services, its plans involved making Northwest Florida Regional Airport in Valparaiso its hub.
A year later, not only did Northwest Florida Regional become just another destination, Vision is dropping it from its schedule completely.
Vision airlines' flights to-and-from Northwest Florida Regional Airport ended Sunday.
The airline began service in Northwest Florida in December 2010 with direct flights to Miami and Niagara Falls. At its height last spring, Vision was flying to seventeen destinations from Valparaiso.
Airline officials say they're evaluating the late spring and summer schedules, but haven't made any decisions about service to Northwest Florida Regional after this week.
The airline owes the airport almost a quarter of a million dollars in facility fees. Vision has an operating agreement with the airport until September 2013.
