Several Die in Overnight Beach Fire

Neighbors say around 1:30 AM Friday they were awaken by the sound of a loud car horn. They went to investigate and found a neighboring mobile home being gutted by flames.

The home is on Avenue B, just west of Wisteria Lane in Laguna Beach.

Apparently, James Lausky was able to safely escape the burning trailer. But, his 44 year old wife and a 33 year old male roomate of the couple were killed. Their identities are being withheld at this time.

The state Fire Marshall's office is investigating. It says the preliminary indication is some faulty electrical wiring might have been the accidential cause.

In the meantime, there was a second mobile home fire Frday, this one on the other side of the county.

A noontime blaze destroyed a trailer home on Lane Drive just off Transmitter Road near Springfield. Neighbors say they heard an explosion a little before noon and saw flames starting to shoot from the building.

Bay County firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to other nearby trailer, but the home could not be saved.

No one was at home when the blaze started. The state Fire Marshall's office says the blaze started in the wall near the front door and appears to be accidential.
