Severe Weather Could Be a Factor in a Friday Morning Multi-Fatality Wreck

At least two people have been killed in a late morning traffic accident about three miles west of Ebro on State Road 20 in Walton County.

The mishap, reportedly involving gravel trucks and an SUV, occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Friday morning in severe weather which was passing through the area at this time.

Details of the crash and the names of those killed and injured were not immediately available.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. State Road 20 between Ebro and State Road 81 is closed because of the accident at this time.

At about the same time, another grinding accident occured on Highway 231 in Cottondale in Jackson County. It's also beng blame of Friday's extreemly heavy rain and gusty wind.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Adam Arellano of Albany, Georgia was killed when two S-U-V's collided. He was a passanger in an S-U-V heading south of U-S231 when it hydroplaned on the wet pavement and slid broadside into another oncoming S-U-V.

A total of six people were all injured in the accident and were taken to area hospitals.
