Okaloosa Deputies Charge Two Juveniles With 17 Burglaries

Two teenagers, arrested last month after a homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress, have now been charged with 17 vehicle burglaries dating back to last November.

A resident of Sheffield Road, returning home for lunch on March 16, recognized two teenagers jumping the fence to flee from his backyard. The two, Robert Alan McKuhen, age 14, and Colin Tourjee, age 15, were arrested that day after leading deputies on a foot chase.

Entry to the home had apparently been made through a "doggie door."

Subsequent investigation developed McKuhen and Tourjee as suspects in a series of vehicle burglaries in the Ocean City area of Okaloosa County.

In each case, residents reported someone had entered unlocked vehicles, removing small items including cellular telephones, money and cigarettes.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office served 17 felony warrants on Tourjee and McKuhen this week at the Juvenile Detention Center in Crestview. An 18th warrant was served on McKuhen for a residential burglary.
