PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) -- Florida Panhandle authorities say a man died after being taken into custody by sheriff's deputies.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a Pensacola home early Monday to investigate calls about a man "displaying irrational behavior."
The sheriff's office says deputies found Tracy Deshawn Lett lying on the floor of a home he unlawfully entered.
Deputies said Lett began to show signs of being in medical distress after they restrained him. The sheriff's office says deputies unrestrained Lett and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Lett was pronounced dead at a hospital. An autopsy is pending.
