The courts will hold a hearing to determine if Medical Capital Corporation can foreclose on the hospital.
Med-Cap loaned Gulf Pines owner Hubert Steeley about $700,000 last year to keep the hospital afloat, but Steeley is in default and the state shut down the facility in early March, calling it a "danger to public health."
If the judge allows Med-Cap to foreclose on Steeley and seize Gulf Pines, that would clear the way for the hospital to reopen in as little as a couple of weeks.
That hearing is set for 10:30 Tuesday morning at the Gulf County Courthouse.
