Bristol Man Dead after Domestic Dispute

A Liberty County resident is dead from a gunshot wound following what police say was a domestic dispute in his home outside Bristol. Police are trying to determine if he was killed or killed himself.

Police responding to this home along Hoecake Road outside of Bristol found a man dead of gunshot wounds Wednesday night.

An argument Wednesday night between a husband and wife led to the man dying from a gunshot wound in his home outside Bristol, police said.

Liberty County Sheriff's deputies and investigators from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were still working Thursday trying to determine what happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Deputies said the body of Tranum McLemore was found inside the house at 14222 Hoecake Road, Bristol. McLemore was a physical education teacher and baseball coach at Blountstown Middle School.

Investigators said a dispute between McLemore and wife, Winter, escalated into domestic violence. Winter was able to leave the home and went to the sheriff's office.

When deputies went back to the house, they found McLemore dead from a gunshot wound. Investigators worked through the night to determine whether he had been shot by another person or shot himself. They would not disclose their findings Thursday evening.
