Beach Wedding Couple Hit By Thief

Bay County sheriff's investigators are looking for a woman who has nearly ruined the wedding plans of a Wisconsin couple.

Sara Duelge and Chris Totero drove from Milwaukee to Panama City Beach to get married on the beach this week.

They were buying wedding reception items Saturday at the Carousel liquor store on Front Beach Road, when they met another customer, who they later found out goes by the name of Shelby.

As Shelby suggested some different wines and liquors, Sara set her wallet on the counter. Video shows Shelby took Sara's wallet, put it in her vehicle, then came back in the store and bought her own merchandise.

When Sara noticed her wallet was missing, she screamed at Shelby, who ran to the car and drove away.

Sara lost several hundred dollars in cash, more than $300 in gift cards that were wedding presents, and most importantly her identification, which she needs to get a marriage license.

"We're already having a happy trip," said Chris Totero. "We just want this situation, this bad part to have a happy ending. We obviously realize how a lot of these situations work, you never end up seeing it again. It would be great to have this all work out in the end. But we won't let this ruin what we're really here for.”

"We've got supportive friends and family here. They've flown in. And we've planned for this," said Sara Duelge. "Money's money.”

Fortunately Sara found another form of identification on Monday, so she can get married Tuesday.

If you recognize the woman in the video, or have any information about the crime, please call the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 850-747-4700.

Well, first never let your guard down even on vacation. That is how so many tourists get taken advantage of in any location they visit. Second shame on the thief, I hope you get caught and put in jail. I am sure this is not your first time. I hope the wedding goes off and the couple is still able to have a great time despite this set back. One thought if the people who gave them the gift cards have their receipts they can report them stolen and cancel those gift cards and get them reissued.
