Since 7 a.m. this morning Florida residents have been heading to the polls to vote in the presidential candidate.

A lot of area residents are heading to the polls today. Almost 7,000 people voted early in Bay County, but there are almost 100,000 registered voters in the county.

Supervisor of Elections Mark Anderson said things are running smoothly, but it's important for voters to slow down and pay attention to the ballot.

You can only vote in the presidential primary if you are registered as either a Democrat or Republican.

Anyone can vote on Amendment One, the proposed property tax. If you are eligible to vote for both, the presidential candidates will be on one side and when you flip the ballot over you'll see the amendment one vote.

If you are only voting for the amendment, you should only receive a one-sided ballot. This is why it’s important to take the extra time to look at your ballot and make sure you have the right one.

We spoke to some exit pollers and looked at their numbers. These numbers are unofficial but it looks like Mitt Romney is ahead by a landslide in the area.

We also found a lot of Hillary Clinton supporters as well. We asked some people as they were coming out of the polls what issue is most important to them in this election.

It seemed like there was a correlation. People who are most concerned with the economy seem to be looking to Mitt Romney for answers, but of course the polls will be open until 7 p.m. tonight. All this could change.
