Owners of the world famous beach club known as Club La Vela are planning a big announcement next week now that a deal to sell their property is apparently dead.
In December, Club La Vela owners announced they had sold the property to condo developers, but Saturday the nightclub's large digital street sign read "No place like Club La Vela, here to stay,” and a poster inside the building read, "Club La Vela will not be closing after all."
An employee who answered the business phone said employees learned Friday night the deal had fallen through.
Club La Vela's marketing director, Chris Pitts, says a big announcement concerning the nightclub's future will be discussed during a press conference Wednesday.
The night club was supposed to close a week ago to be demolished and replaced with a massive condo project.
