There was another fire in Panama City Sunday, and this one did damage a home.
At 9:30 Sunday morning in the 900 block of Fortune Avenue, homeowners say the fire started near their water heater.
Investigators say the appliance wasn't properly guarded.
When the water heater started to reheat, the flame escaped the unit and set items stored inside the water heater closet on fire.
About 15 percent of the home was damaged. Officials say the power to the house has been shut off.
The Thomasons aren't sure when they'll be able to spend the night in their home again, but are thankful.
