Arrest Made in Millville Shooting, More Suspects Sought

The Panama City Police Department Saturday morning arrested a suspect wanted for a Friday night shooting on the street in the Sherman Ave and 9th Court area in Millville.

Police arrested Laportea Markeze Howard, 21, Saturday morning after a shooting around 11 p.m. Friday that sent two victims to the hospital.
Howard was charged with one count of discharging a firearm in public, one count of felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of violation of probation for a previous charge of felony battery.

One of the victims, Keneen Tarell Gary, 20, is still in the hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the hip area. Police said the injury is not life threatening. Cleveland Derrill Tubbs, 19, was released after being treated for his gunshot injury to the leg.

Detectives were unable to release and motive or details ofr the incident. But, they did indicate they expected more arrests in the case as the investigation continues.

    Its funny. A black man shoots two other black men and he goes to jail. NO outrage, no comments, no whining and crying. A little later we get the police shooting a man and all of a sudden its an outrage because all the guy had was a machete and was trying to attack the police.
