Changes Coming to Callaway

Things are shaking up in Callaway with the new administration. Tonight's meeting was assumed to be something quiet for the newly elected officials to get acclimated to their new position, but Mayor Bob Thompson stirred things up by adding an item to the agenda: the dismissal of Judy Whitis as City Manager.

The two met earlier Tuesday morning to discuss the future she would have at the job and decided together that it was in her best interest and the best interest of the city for her to take her severance package and leave her position.

Whitis will remain working as the city manager in Callaway until May 9th.

I'm already impressed with our new mayor! City of Callaway needs to get rid of dead weight that's dragging everyone down. Thank you, Mayor Bob! Keep up the great job!

Already saving money for Callaway residents, now Mr. Meers can enjoy hanging out at John Boy's without any pressure. Good luck Bob, we needed a change.

Hope everyone is happy with who they voted in office. With that said. Let me say with Judy basically being force to quit her job. Hope everyone will be happy with how the city will be ran. Because the City of Caway will become another Cedar Groove.

We now have an acting mayor and has proven so by his very first action in the position. Having lived in Callaway since 1981 I can honestly say I've never been more proud to be a resident of this city. It's a greater day in the neighborhood!!!!!!
