A recount of Tuesday’s votes cast in the Parker city election confirmed the winner, both of whom are former chiefs of police in the town.
Parker's first police chief has become its newest city commissioner. Joe Walker has edged out Mike Miller by four votes for one of two available City Council seats.
Incumbent Will Oost, also a former police chief in Parker, easily won a council seat with 390 votes in Tuesday’s election.
The recount was mandatory under state law since 48 percent of the votes cast separated the two candidates. Under state law the recount must be done if the separation is 50 percent or less.
