Eighty-Year-Old Woman in Critical Condition Following a Fire

For the second time in less than a week, an elderly person is injured in a local house fire.

Lynn Haven Firefighters may have saved the life of an 80-year-old woman whose home at 411 Indiana Ave was struck by fire at lunch time Friday.

Emergency personnel were not able to get there in time to save the lady’s two cats, but rescuers were able to get the elderly woman out of the house while she was still alive.

Lynn Haven Fire Chief Richard Morrison says they were able to get in through a window and get her outside. She suffered from serious smoke inhalation and was listed as critical in a local hospital.

In anther fire just last weekend, an elderly Panama City man died when an early morning fire broke out in his West 12th Street home.
