Gulf Coast Salute 2005 "A Salute to North America" is fast approaching and headlining aerial acts will not be the only attractions bringing their own special brand of excitement to this weekend's open house at Tyndall Air Force Base.
Children's activities and performers will include Jay-Jay the Jet Plane, Stepping Stones to Aviation pedal planes and flight school, and several inflatables to include an obstacle course, a large double slide, the Thunder Bird bounce, the Galaxy Explorer rocket, the Stars and Stripes bounce, a junior space shuttle and a rock climbing wall.
Other events and displays available to the public will include the Orange County Chopper Air Force bike and Cross into the Blue, an interactive display for all ages.
There will also be numerous food concessions to include hot dogs, cheeseburgers, polish sausage and bratwurst, nachos, chicken tenders and pitas, gyros, fries, and assorted beverages. There will also be smoothies, snow cones and lemonade carts available for your refreshment.
The air show is open to the public with free admission and parking. Gates open at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Shuttle bus transportation will be provided from the parking area to the flight line.
