The American Medical Student Association will sponsor a Basic Northwest Florida Community Education Community Forum on Monday, February 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Student Union East, Private Dining Room on campus.

The forum is to provide an accurate overview on HIV/AIDS, its transmission and prevention, myths and fallacies about HIV, and high risk behaviors that can facilitate HIV transmission.

Topics discussed in the presentation will include the transmission, prevention, testing, universal precautions, symptoms, HIV high risk behavior and body fluids.

The American Medical Student association in recognition of “AIDS Awareness Week,” will host the following events at Gulf Coast.

• Monday, February 25, Basic Northwest Florida Community Education Forum, Student Union East; 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

• Monday, February 25, Benefit Concert; “The Deep Blue Band and Friends,” Student Union East; 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

• Monday, February 25 – 29, Book Display, GCCC Library.

.• Tuesday, February 26, Feature Movie: “And the Band

Played on,” Sarzin Lecture Hall, Language and Literature

Building; 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

• Wednesday, February 27, Bay County Health Department speaker, Sarzin Lecture Hall, Language and Literature Building; 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

• Wednesday, February 27, Bay County Health Department, AIDS testing, Student Union West, Room 302, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Thursday, February 28, Feature Movie: “Philadelphia,” Student Union East, Private Dining Room, 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

• Friday, February 29, Speaker Dr. Dan Finley, “Medical Aspects of AIDS and HIV Disease,” Student Union East, Private Dining Room, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
