The Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley is unveiling its newest addition. A ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday signaled the opening of the hospital's new emergency room.
The 4,000 square foot facility is state-of-the-art and doubles the amount of exam rooms at the medical center. A small crowd came out to celebrate the opening.
The addition also has two new trauma rooms, a chest pain center, and a decontamination facility for use during a chemical disaster. The helicopter landing pad was also moved so it's closer to the emergency room.
