A Crestview man is now in the custody of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office after a positive DNA match identified him for a murder he committed in Tucson, Arizona 18 years ago.
A joint investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the Pima County State Attorney's Office in Arizona and the Pima County Sheriff's Department resulted in the arrest of Tyrone James Kessler, age 39, of 505 Forest Court in Crestview.
On Saturday investigators served a warrant around 9:00 p.m. at Kessler's Crestview home. Kessler was arrested without incident for Fugitive from Justice on a State of Arizona, Pima County warrant for the charge of first degree murder.
Kessler is linked to the murder of Katherine Young, who was found murdered in her home in May of 1987. Kessler underwent a first appearance in Okaloosa County court Sunday and is being held in the county jail without bond.
