A baby who was burned at a beach daycare center several months ago is recovering quite well. She's even learning to walk.
One-year-old Yalena was the star of the show at the Captain's Table restaurant Sunday afternoon. Employees held a fish fry to help pay for her medical expenses.
Yalena was burned from her chin to her knees in June when a crock pot used to warm bottles fell on her at the Kids Best daycare center on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach.
She spent several weeks in a burn unit in Birmingham, Alabama.
Captain's Table sold more than 200 plates of fish for donations of $10 each. Several businesses helped Captain's Table put on the fundraiser including Greg Abrams' Seafood, Anderson's Seafood, Buffalo Rock Pepsi and the Grocery Outlet.
