Officials with the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network say the new home for the rough-toothed dolphin will be Gulf World Marine Park in Panama City Beach.
Some fishermen in April spotted the barely alive dolphin on a Texas beach. Astro was transported to the Network's rehab facility in Galveston.
Officials aren't sure why the animal beached itself. Experts say Astro has no specific health problems other than a spinal curvature in his tail.
The Galveston County Daily News reports the dolphin picked up its nickname in honor of the Houston Astros.
