Bay County citizens, along with five other area counties, Franklin, Gulf, Okaloosa Wakulla and Walton, were made eligible for individual disaster aid late Thursday afternoon.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, says the counties are eligible for financial help to meet the recovery needs of homeowners, renters and businesses affected by Dennis.
Citizens in the affected counties can begin the disaster application process by calling FEMA toll free registration number 1-800-621-FEMA. You can also register online at www.fema.gov.
The assistance can include grants to help pay for temporary housing, home repairs and other disaster expenses not covered by insurance or other aid programs.
