A nearly $40,000 check was presented to the Anchorage Children’s Home Monday.
The grant will be used for improvements to the Hidle House, a safe shelter for runaway youths and children that have been removed from their home.
The grant will cover new furniture and carpet for the shelter, as well as an industrial washer and dryer and overall repairs.
Lewis Howell says, “As being part of the community it is our obligation to supply those in need, so we feel real good about what we're doing at Anchorage Children's Home.”
Anchorage Children's Home serves kids from six counties in the area. The grant will provide improvements that otherwise would have gone undone due to a lack of funds.
