Lynn Haven is making some upgrades to the city’s water system.
Work crews were out early Monday clear out land at the city’s current water tank on Ohio Ave. In a few days they’ll begin construction of a new one and a half million gallon water tank.
The current talk, decades old, is old and doesn’t meet the needs of a growing city.
The $3.5 million project should take about eight months to complete.
Jim Slonina of Panhandle Engineering says the new giant water tower is just one of several phases of improvements to the Lynn Haven Water System.
“The way we are doing this will allow us to keep the water system operating. This extra tank will enable us to continue to operate and there won’t be any interruption.”
The city is also updating its water plant. That project should take about a year and a half to complete.
