The Panama City Beach City Council members teed off on people who drive golf carts on city streets.
The council voted 4 to 1 to begin the process of banning the small vehicles from a number of roads.
The proposed ordinance says you can drive you golf cart on most streets, but you have to stay off state roads and some of the city’s busiest streets.
The ban would include Front Beach, Middle Beach and Back Beach Roads, North Lagoon Drive and Thomas Drive.
Eight major north-south roads, including Highway 79, Beckrich and Alf Coleman Roads are also on the “golf cart no drive list.”
The majority of the council’s discussions involved the number of signs needed to indicate where golf carts are and are not allowed.
