OUT OF LUCK BUT NOT OUT OF OPTIONS.
RIGHT NOW ALL THE SLOTS AT THE 19 BAY COUNTY SCHOOLS PROVIDING VOLUNTARY PRE-K HAVE BEEN FILLED.
BUT THE CHOICES DON'T END THERE.
24 PRIVATE AND FAITH BASED ORGANIZATIONS AROUND BAY COUNTY, ALL FULLY CERTIFIED WILL ALSO BE PROVIDING V-P-K.
4 YEARS AGO, ONLY SCHOOLS PROVIDED THE PROGRAM.
THIS NEW PROGRAM WAS JUST SIGNED INTO LAW THIS PAST JANUARY AND SOME PARENTS MAY BE CONFUSED ABOUT WHERE THEY CAN SEND THEIR CHILD.
EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE ASKS PARENTS TO CONTACT THEM IF THEIR CHILD IS NOT YET ENROLLED.

"the worst thing is i'm 4 and i think i'm going to school and i have my backpack and i hve my lunch money and then i can't stay and that's really what we want to try and avert if there's any way possible."
ALSO, IF YOU MISS OUT ON THIS FALL'S SESSION, THERE ARE SUMMER SESSIONS YOUR CHILD CAN ATTEND.
BUT REMEMBER, A CHILD CAN ONLY GO THROUGH THE V-P-K PROGRAM ONCE AND THEY HAVE TO BE 4 YEARS OLD ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER FIRST TO PARTICIPATE.
