The two-day search for a 64-year-old Jackson County man missing in the Apalachicola River at Sneads ended Friday morning.
The body of Leonard Coile was found about a half mile south of the spot where his overturned aluminum boat was found Wednesday afternoon.
Coile’s fishing license and boat registration were found in the river on Thursday by search and rescue workers.
His body was recovered around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning by a fisherman. It was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Tallahassee for an autopsy.
There is no word yet on what caused the boat to overturn or how the victim died. Authorities say preliminarily they believe it was accidental.
