More than a month after Hurricane Katrina, gas supplies in northwest Florida are still spotty in some places, although drivers can find plenty of stations with fuel.
A number of stations are still running out of at least one grade of gas fairly regularly, although they are getting resupplied within a couple days.
The situation varies, however, from station to station. Some stations say they haven't run out in weeks.
AAA has been advising members to not let their tanks drop below about half full.
Some gas station owners say demand is particularly heavy and they think the increased population from Katrina evacuees and the number of hurricane aid workers who have staged in the area is contributing to sporadic supply.
